I had the honor of meeting this lovely couple for the first time for their engagement session and I had so much fun taking their pictures! I seriously can’t wait to photograph their wedding at Gin Creek in September! Here are some of their sweet engagement photos!

This was the second time I was able to photograph The Walpoles. Last time we did a session in the yard with the sprinkler and popsicles etc… You can view that session here, http://johannalakin.com/blog/?p=7453

This time, they were visiting the beach and so we did a beach session! The kids got to play in the water at the end which made for some sweet candid shots 🙂 I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend time with this family and am excited to do it again in the future!

I highly encourage you if you are planning a beach session to allow your kids some playtime for some of the photos. It totally pays off! Don’t you agree?

What an awesome family this is! I am so excited to share some of the photos from their beach session in Destin. Vanessa is stunningly beautiful as are their two girls Johannah and Ruth and so I had it made in the shade getting good shots! I love the mixture of candids and posed shots throughout this session. I think that most of the photos from any session should be candid. I’m sure you have all heard me ranting about lifestyle photography lately! This session is a great mixture of both lifestyle and portrait style. Thank you so much Vanessa and Tim for asking me to take photos and showing me a new spot in Destin to shoot at! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

These girls just never run out of cuteness! I have loved photographing them since they were born! They have such a different personalties and it is so fun capturing it! We tried setting up a lemonade stand and sitting the girls in the grass but Addalyn was NOT on board with that plan! She acted like we were torturing her when her feet would hit the grass! lol

So we ended up improvising with a rocking chair which she tolerated just fine. Meanwhile Brooklyn was completely chill the whole time. Even when we gave her lemons, she didn’t even scrunch up her face once. She actually got so mad at us when we tried to take away her lemon! haha Addalyn on the other hand was giving sour faces right and left! Their favorite part of the shoot was the pool, and the cookies at the end were a close second!

I loved spending the morning with this sweet family! These boys were all about playing and we had to chase after them to get photos. I think candid photos of boys playing are better than posed photos anyways! Here are some of my favorites!
